There are times in life when you shoot for the stars and your heels barely leave the ground. In my first book, “It Means a Lot to Me. When Small Deeds Have Big Impact” I tell the story of seeking to raise $10,000 for victims of a tropical storm in the Caribbean, but only raising $1,200. Totally bummed, I prayed to God and asked for guidance. “It Means a Lot to Me” is a humorous and spirited tale of my journey to deliver $100 to families on the island of Dominica, who were displaced by Tropical Storm Erika in August 2015.
The journey changed my perspective on charitable deeds. Small deeds can have a big impact on the receiver. I challenge the reader to do those small deeds such as a smile, a warm greeting or making good on a call or visit long overdue. Small deeds, big love.
